Promace is a tranquilizer used to sedate animals for minor procedures (e.g., nail trims) and prevent vomiting due to motion sickness. It is also used prior to anesthesia, and helps to keep the heart rhythm stable under certain conditions. It is not a pain reliever. It is used in dogs, cats, and horses, as well as other species.
