Frequently Asked Questions
How far does the flyer fly?The Frubba Play Flyer is designed for impressive flight distance when thrown correctly. Flight distance depends on throwing technique and wind conditions, but the aerodynamic design ensures maximum distance and stable flight. Perfect for large parks, beaches, and open fields where your dog has plenty of space to run and chase.
Is this suitable for aggressive chewers? The Play Flyer is designed for fetch and catch games rather than heavy chewing. Whilst it is durable and can withstand normal play, it is not indestructible. For dogs who are aggressive chewers, we recommend supervised play and using the flyer primarily for fetch games rather than leaving it for unsupervised chewing.
Can I use this at the beach or in water?Yes! The Frubba Play Flyer is suitable for beach play and will float on water, making it easy to retrieve if it lands in shallow water or puddles. However, for extended water play and swimming, we recommend toys specifically designed for aquatic use. Rinse with fresh water after beach use to remove salt and sand.
What size dog is this suitable for?The Play Flyer is suitable for most dog sizes. The lightweight design makes it easy for smaller dogs to carry, whilst the size is substantial enough for larger dogs to catch comfortably. The soft edges are gentle on all dog mouths. Always supervise play to ensure safe catching and retrieval.
How do I teach my dog to catch a flying disc?Start by rolling the flyer along the ground to build interest and confidence. Gradually introduce short, low throws, rewarding your dog for any interaction with the disc. Progress to higher and longer throws as your dog becomes more confident. Keep sessions short and fun, and always end on a positive note. The lightweight design makes it ideal for training.
