Such organisms include Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Brucella bronchoseptica, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Aerobacter aerogenes, Corynebacterium renale, Salmonella species, Pseudomonas species, Shigella species, Neisseria catarrhalis, anaerobic bacteria, and many rickettsiae.
